Product Description

Inspired by the work of Tony Slydini & Roy Benson, Routined by Pete Biro, & Craftsmanship by Joe Porper!

Here’s an old utility device made new by Joe Porper. Fabricated from case-hardened steel, and nickel plated, this clip holds six Morgan (or Peace or Eisenhower) Dollars and can be used for the Slydini coins through the table, or two stand-up vanishes of the stack. Instructions include four different ways to vanish the coins

Pete Biro explains:
"Some years ago I was an ardent fan and student of Tony Slydini. My favorite routines were based on his coins through the table. However, no one should try to be Slydini. His mannerisms were unique to him, and many that studied under him became bad imitations.

"At the same time, Ken Brooke, whose mannerisms were more suited to my way, had a great influence on my work as well.

"Another performer I admired was Roy Benson. One night, at Charles and Regina Reynolds' home, in New York, Benson fooled me badly with a barehanded, stand-up vanish of a stack of coins that he had balanced on his raised knee. The method was revealed later in his lecture notes. Framing material from these great exponents was easy for me. The following routines have a base on teachings from all of them.

"My favorite sequence of Slydini's coins through the table was his Wrong Way Coins and the final, complete vanish of six silver dollars. The complete vanish of six coins at the table was accomplished with the use of a special clip that Slydini devised. It has been better than thirty years since he offered this clip, and with the new popularity in coin magic, I feel it is time to re-introduce this to the fraternity."

This is a simple looking clip, but there is a lot of engineering built into it. It must be strong enough to hold six silver dollars so they can be lapped or made to vanish while standing up without coming loose, or talking. In addition, it must be made in such a way that you can load the coins in without any noticeable effort. Any unnatural movement would be a real "tell" and kill the magic. The fact that you have something to use to lap these big coins in this quantity, without a sound, is truly a wonderful weapon.

Patterned after Joe Porper's successful, and original Card Clip, the new Porper Dollar Coin Clip does the job and does it perfectly. Not only does the clip do what it is supposed to do, but combining it with Porper's Coin Rattle makes this an even stronger piece of magic.

The clip is no ordinary piece of metal. It's specially fabricated from a steel alloy and case hardened to a Rockwell reading of 50. It is nickel plated to prevent rust and tarnish and is so shaped to not only allow the ease of loading in the coins, but it will not scratch your precious silver dollars.

The clip is supplied with a powerful magnet that can be used for the stand-up routine inspired by Roy Benson, described in the included manuscript accompanying the product.
